KAILA KRIZANTEM HOTEL – SUSTAINABILITY & ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY

“Respect for Nature, Value for the Future:
A Sustainable Holiday Experience”

OUR VISION AND COMMITMENTS

At Kaila Krizantem Hotel, we integrate our service quality in the tourism sector with international sustainability standards. As a property certified by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), we consider it our primary responsibility to minimize our carbon footprint, protect the biodiversity of our unique region, and preserve cultural heritage for future generations.

Below are the key practices we implement in line with Sustainable Tourism principles:

1. ENVIRONMENTAL AND ENERGY MANAGEMENT

Recognizing that natural resources are limited, we use innovative technologies in our energy management:

Renewable Energy:
Solar panels are used to meet part of our hot water and energy needs, reducing fossil fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

Smart Savings:
Energy waste is prevented through smart sensors in guest rooms (such as automatic air-conditioner shutdown when balcony doors are opened) and the use of LED lighting across 90% of the property.

Zero Waste Management

We see waste management not only as a legal obligation, but as our responsibility to nature:

Zero Waste Certificate:
We hold the “Zero Waste Certificate” approved by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change.

Source Separation:
Paper, metal, plastic, and glass waste are separated at the source and delivered to licensed companies for 100% recycling.

Hazardous Waste Control:
Waste oils, batteries, and electronic waste are safely disposed of without entering the environment.

Water Footprint and Conservation

We continually upgrade our systems to protect water — the source of life:

Water-Saving Fixtures:
Special aerator systems and sensor-based taps in faucets and showers help optimize water usage without compromising guest comfort.

Ozone Disinfection:
Ozone disinfection systems are used in our kitchens when washing fruits and vegetables, reducing both water and chemical consumption.

2. NATURAL LIFE & BIODIVERSITY

Support for Our Animal Friends

We protect not only the environment itself, but all living beings that share it with us. In cooperation with HAYTAP (Animal Rights Federation), we support street animals through regular donations and initiatives to improve their living conditions.

Protection of Endemic Species

We respect the rich flora of the Alanya region in which we operate:

Endemic Plants: We help protect local plant species such as Arum maculatum (Lords-and-Ladies), Cornflower, and Ferula, while informing our guests about their importance.

Endangered Species: We respect the habitats of endangered species such as Caretta Caretta sea turtles and strictly prohibit the sale or display of any threatened species within our hotel.

3. SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY & CULTURAL HERITAGE

Respect for Cultural Values

We believe tourism is more than just sea and sun — it also means supporting local culture:

Sponsorships: We contribute to social development by supporting the archaeological excavations of Syedra Ancient City, the TEMA environmental foundation, and our city’s football club, Alanyaspor.

Promotion of Turkish Culture: Through our weekly “Turkish Night” events, we introduce guests to our cuisine, music, and cultural richness.

Local Development and Employment

To support the regional economy, our priority in both employment and product procurement is always given to local stakeholders within the Manavgat/Alanya region.

4. HUMAN RIGHTS & SAFE TOURISM

Child Protection Policy

Children are our most precious responsibility. We operate with a Zero Tolerance policy against child abuse and neglect, do not employ staff under the age of 18 (except interns), and provide regular training to all employees on children’s rights.
